Dr. Kaitlin Ferguson is a fitness enthusiast and professional who has been working in higher education for over a decade. Having spent her youth competing in a variety of sports through college, Kaitlin pursued several degrees relating to kinesiology.

After earning her bachelor’s degree in Communication and Sport Management from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Kaitlin earned two kinesiology-related associate degrees and two master’s degrees, including one in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Physical Education from Fresno Pacific University. Additionally, Kaitlin has her doctoral degree in Exercise Science, specifically Health and Human Performance, from Concordia University, Chicago.

She also holds several fitness certifications, including one as a Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. For over a decade, Kaitlin worked her way up as a volleyball coach at the club, high school, and college levels, taught fitness, and educated the youth in the K-12 Physical Education system around the North Bay Area.

Kaitlin is a full-time faculty member and the Department Chair of the Kinesiology Department at Mission College and has been with the college since August 2018. She teaches a variety of activity courses as well as theory courses, where she introduces students to the field of kinesiology. Her passion lies in helping people transform their lives through movement and nutrition. Kaitlin hopes to aid in the prevention of prevalent noncommunicable diseases by encouraging people to take charge of their health every day.
