Blood Donation Map - FDA Regulation Updates

On May 11 2023, the FDA eased restrictions on blood donations from gay and bisexual men, among other groups traditionally facing higher risks of HIV. The FDA no longer broadly excludes gay and bisexual people from donating blood, but has moved to a more targeted questionnaire about an individual's sexual history.

As you may already know, From trauma victims and patients undergoing surgeries to individuals battling cancer and those with chronic illnesses, the demand for blood is constant and ever-present. Yet, the supply often falls short of meeting this critical need. We believe that the groundbreaking FDA rule changes deserve attention and recognition, as it demonstrates progress in dismantling discriminatory practices and embracing inclusivity in our society.
