What is a Transfer Admission Guarantee?
A Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) is a program that offers students from a California community college guaranteed admission to several colleges and universities. Many colleges includes UC, CSU, and private campuses have transfer guarantees in partnership with Mission College. TAG programs require students to meet certain requirements and deadlines, and in some case, fill out a contract.
How to Qualify for a UC TAG

The UC offers a TAG program which guarantees admission to the university and in most cases, the major to which you apply. Six UC campuses participate in the TAG program with all CA Community Colleges.
Minimum General Requirements
- 30 transferable units completed by the time the application is submitted
- A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher
- 60 transferable units be completed by the end of the spring semester for fall admission
Beyond this, the requirements differ campus-by-campus and major-by-major. If you're interested in a TAG, it's important to plan early with a counselor. Additional information can be found on the UC TAG Matrix and on the individual campus TAG websites.
The UC TAG application is now part of the UC Transfer Admission Planner. TAG applicants can apply for a TAG with only one UC campus.
TAGs are usually submitted one year in advance. For fall admission, TAG applications are submitted between September 1 - 30. UC Merced and UC Riverside offer a winter/spring TAG and applications are submitted May 1 - 31.

Although the CSU campuses do not have official TAG programs, the Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADTs) do provide students with priority consideration in the admissions process and guarantee students will be offered a spot at one of the 23 CSU campuses across the state.
